Sam Abboud (he/him)

Clinical Therapist

Prioritizing our mental and emotional health can seem unmanageable at times, but I find we are the most capable when connected to those who wish to see us flourish and prosper.

I support adult individuals and couples through challenges associated with anxiety, depression, masculinity, mixed-race identity, life transitions, and self-esteem. Though I see myself as an active participant in your therapeutic journey, I aim to provide you with the space to take ownership of your healing. In other words, we will work at your pace to better understand what makes you the person you are today. Hopefully, with a greater awareness for who you are within the context of your past and present, you can live a freer and more fulfilling future.

Collaboration and self-reflection are at the core of my therapeutic practice, and I aim to demonstrate a genuine sense of curiosity for who you are in all facets of your being. As a psychodynamic therapist, I naturally gravitate towards exploring how your important life experiences and relationships might inform how you navigate life and its challenges. Ultimately, our work together will allow you to experience alternative ways of relating to yourself and others, as well as new ways of coping with your troubles.

I thoroughly enjoy this kind of work, and it is a privilege to create a space in which you feel comfortable sharing your innermost world, perhaps for the very first time. If you think we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation where we can further discuss your therapeutic needs.
I received my Master’s in Counseling from Northwestern University, and I attend weekly supervision with Elana Thomas, LCSW.
