Elana Thomas (she/her)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker I Clinical Director

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”― Maria Robinson, From Birth to One

It is my pleasure to work with my clients in a collaborative effort to achieve their goals. Together, we work in sessions to resolve issues, develop regulatory skills, practice and identify real solutions to manage mental health. I utilize an eclectic, person-centered, strengths-based, and evidence-based approach to truly customize an effective experience. I believe in developing strong rapport with my clients to establish the safe space in which they are comfortable sharing the most intimate details impacting their journey. I specialize in supporting adult clients to process traumas (sexual, childhood abuse, domestic violence, religious, adoption, racial) utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as TF-CBT, Mindfulness and Somatic therapies. Additionally, I am passionate about working with individuals and couples to address and improve emotional and physical intimacy, sexual dysfunction, life transitions, and relationship conflict. My professional mission is to support women of color, women with high-stress careers, and BIPOC couples to increase fulfilment in their lives. In our sessions, I will bring a fresh perspective, unbiased assistance, and over 10 years of direct clinical practice, mental health organizational leadership, and supervision.

I am a Black/Multicultural woman (wife and mother) who is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and am Sex/Kink Positive. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2013. Throughout my professional career, I have received trainings and certifications in CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, Talk Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Anger Management, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Yoga Therapy, ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency) Framework, Complex Trauma Processing, Gottman Method, IFS, and Sex Therapy. I also conduct clinical supervision and therapy with mental health professionals experiencing secondary trauma, burnout, and anxiety. I’ve worked with these professionals to reduce their negative symptoms, increase ability to regulate and perform self-care activities at work, and manage issues which would allow them to remain in their selected professional field.

My greatest passion is empowering others to develop and evolve into the self that they wish to become. As such, I encourage you to cultivate a positive, supportive and healthy relationship with the therapist who will help navigate your journey to mental well-being. If you would like to start your journey with me, “Turn RIGHT now!” and schedule a consultation today!
