“I don’t believe in “laziness,” only in the unmet needs and untoldstories of each person.”
I believe shame is a powerful force. Oftentimes, shame is in the driver’s seat of our life for a
variety of reasons. Through our sessions, you will learn to replace shame with self
compassion, confusion with understanding of the unique features of your diagnosis. We
will get down to the root of behaviors, patterns, and thoughts that are preventing healing
and will develop tools that promote growth and self-acceptance. We will kick shame out
of the driver’s seat.
In sessions, we will explore the “what” instead of the “why” with curiosity by exploring
barriers and approaching them with compassion. No session will be the same – if you
need to laugh, we’ll laugh. If we need to move, we’ll move. If we need to play, we will
play and be silly! If we need to cry, then cry. As a therapist, I use intentional reframes
highlighting your strengths, teachable moments via tangible coping skills, and
Psychoeducation to provide insight into the workings of the brain.
I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan, with experience
in working with diverse populations in short-term and crisis situations. I am passionate
about working with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate neurodivergence,
executive functioning, complex trauma, and low self-esteem. I find it rewarding also
working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ folks as our unique experiences impact our mental
health and the healthcare we receive. In our work together, you can expect a
collaborative, empowering environment where we can make space for your full
humanity.
Outside of the therapy space, I find grounding through movement (dance, capoeira,
Pilates), laughter, and learning just for the joy of it. As a neurodivergent Black woman,
my lived experience deeply informs my work. I bring this perspective into therapy with
care, curiosity, and a belief that growth doesn’t have to come at the cost of self-
compassion.
I attend supervision with Gabriela Flores, LCSW.
